Orlen’s Q4 results hurt by Czech division

23 January 2013

As expected, PKN Orlen ended the fourth quarter of 2012 in the red. The local oil giant posted a loss of PLN 276m for the period and a PLN 700m operational loss. The company’s representative say earnings were hit by Orlen’s Czech business, whose poor results are allegedly forcing the company to consider getting rid of it.
Czech Ministry Trade and Industry Martin Kuba has already said the government is interested in a deal.
Despite the disappointing Q4 results, the company said it ended last year with a net profit of PLN 2.34bn.
