Polonia Palace Hotel conflict continues

9 January 2013

According to Polish media reports, Warsaw’s Polonia Palace Hotel is set to change hands, after the city illegally sold the property in 1997. The city agreed to abide by a decision handed down by the Supreme Administrative Court and will return the property to its original owner, Jolanta Lubomirskia-Pierre. But the conflict seems far for resolved.
Lubomirskia-Pierre lost the rights to the property under the 1945 Beirut decree, years before the city sold the hotel to the investor Bau Holding in 1997 for $24m. Bau Holdings spent $25m to renovate the hotel. Bau Holding said it will appeal the court’s decision.
