Hungarian president János Áder has promised to help Afghanistan preserve its enormous mineral wealth. During a meeting between Áder and Afghan President Hamid Karzai, Áder offered to help Afghanistan protect its environment and minimize the side-effects of mine extraction. Karzai thanked Áder for Hungary’s aid over the past few years and expressed hope that the cooperation would continue. More than 850 Hungarian troops had played an active role within the ISAF framework in stabilizing Afghanistan.
