Qatar and Korean interested in Czech Airlines

7 December 2012

Qatar Airways and Korean Air have shown serious interest in buying Czech Airlines (CSA). Czech Finance Minister Miroslav Kalousek welcomed the news saying that both carriers could be strong, reliable partners for the cash-strapped Czech Airlines, according to the server Aktualne.cz.
CSA, which is part of the Český Aeroholding, owns the Václav Havel Prague airport and some other airline companies. Aeroholding approached up to 50 companies about a partnership deal, but only Qatar Airways and Korean Air showed serious interest. The candidates need to deliver their preliminary offers by the end of January 2013, with binding offers including price due in February. “If everything goes well, the shares will be transferred in the second half of 2013,” said Kalousek.
