The Uzbek Foreign Ministry has confirmed a mutual interest in further developing Uzbek-Hungarian relations. The announcement said that the Ministry is keen to develop political, trade, economic, cultural and humanitarian efforts. A joint agreement was accepted in November during former Hungarian president Pál Schmitt’s visit in Tashkent, where the Uzbek-Hungarian summit was held.
The two countries are especially interested in developing trade relations. They would like to establish good relations between Uzbek and Hungarian business circles in order to expand bilateral trade and to offer access to joint investment projects. There are seven companies with Hungarian investor participation in Uzbekistan.
