Ryanair plans to cut its Budapest routes by 40 percent after the airport operator announced it will raise user charges in 2013. The low-cost airline, which has been based in Budapest since February, announced 10 route closures and said it would be cutting 280 weekly flights starting in January. This will result in the loss of 800 onsite jobs at Budapest Airport. The move is a blow for the airport, which has already had to withstand the impact of the bankruptcy of the Hungarian national airline.
