Mortgage interest rates at record low

22 November 2012

Mortgage interest rates dropped to 3.36 percent in October, which is the lowest they’ve been since 2003, according to Fincentrum Hypoindex. The decrease from September’s 3.46-percent rate attracted 900 more clients in October. Lower property prices and interest rates have started to revive the mortgage market, according to the Czech news agency ČTK. The loan volume also increased to CZK 10.2bn from CZK 8.2bn in September. The Central Bank cut the two-week repo rate by 0.2 percent to an all time low of 0.05 percent at the beginning of November.
