A lack of personnel and equipment in the construction sector has caused delays in a number of state-funded road and motorway projects, according to the daily Jurnalul National.
The news follows a report from the Prime Minister’s Audit Corps that reviewed contracts awarded by the National Company for Motorways and National Roads (CNADNR) between January 1, 2007 and August 31, 2012. The report tried to pinpoint the reasons why there were so many project delays. The report found that many construction companies didn’t have enough equipment and workers to cover all the contracts they were awarded and were trying to operate several project sites simultaneously.
