Alior Bank is the fastest growing bank on the Polish financial market, according to its third quarter postings. The bank reported a 76-percent increase in earnings for the quarter. Alior’s profit level hit a total of PLN 233m during the first three quarters of the year, with PLN 90m reported in the third quarter alone. Interest income came in at PLN 518m during the first three quarters of the year, while PLN 333m came from commissions.
Wojciech Sobieraj, head of Alior said the bank wants to increase its share in the Polish market in the near-term, hoping to raise funds from the stock market and strategic investors. “I hope the recapitalization process will end soon with a success,” Sobieraj said.
