After a strong third quarter for its Hungarian operation, Prologis has seen its vacancy rate fall to just 15 percent in that market. The improvement was driven by 100,000 sqm of leasing activity between July and the end of September. The largest of these deals was a 29,100 sqm renewal by Geodis Calberson Hungaria at Prologis Park Budapest-Budaors DC1. The same client, however, expanded its requirement at Prologis Park Budapest-Gyal, where it had previously run a 21,400 sqm facility. There were smaller deals as well. An as-yet unnamed distribution company took a 5,200 sqm new lease at Prologis Park Budapest-Habor; cargo-partner took 4,800 sqm in another new lease at Prologis Park Budapest-Gyal and it renewed its 16,100 sqm lease at the same time. Finally, SE-CEE Schneider Electric took 4,900 sqm of new space at Prologis Park Budapest-Sziget, bringing its occupied space there to 24,800 sqm.
“It has been a very busy and extremely successful third quarter for us in Hungary,” said László Kemenes vice president for Prologis in Hungary and Romania.
