Considered the first of its kind in Central Europe, an eight-story parking structure for bicycles will open in Hradec Králové in East Bohemia next month. The structure, located near the Hradec Králové railway station, will be able to house 116 bicycles at a cost of CZK 5 per day. The parking structure’s system is fully automatic, and it will take only 30 seconds to store a bike. The project was inspired by a similar scheme in Taiwan. According to the daily Hospodářské noviny, the owner of the new structure, Rudolf Bernart, has patented the parking system throughout Europe.
