Drogerie Markt, one of the leading drugstores on the Hungarian market, posted HUF 66bn in sales for the 2011/2012 financial year. According to Wolfgang Strasser, the company’s executive director, Dm has a 14-percent share of regional market. The company is operating 262 stores in Hungary and has 2,319 employees. In its home market of Germany, DM has benefited from the bankruptcy of its rival, Schlecker, but company officials there claim its primary competition in recent years have been Aldi and Kaufland.
