15 October 2012

CTP Invest has attracted new investors to take over the LG Philips Displays facility in Hranice, near Přerov in the Czech Republic. The new business should employ 200 people. ā€œConstruction of 50,000 sqm of new industrial space should start by the end of 2012,ā€ CTP Invest’s Lucie PolĆ”kovĆ” told local press. PolĆ”kovĆ” did not disclose the names of the new investors, who will join the park’s long-term tenants, including Etimex, Henniges Automotive, Medi-Globe, DAS and Rolled Alloys.
LG Philips Displays used to produce displays for televisions, before flat screens took over the market. It had struggled since its Dutch mother company went bankrupt in 2006 and has withdrawn from the Czech market.
