The Romanian construction company Confort, part of Izometal Comfort Group, controlled by businessman George Cornu, has gone into insolvency at his own request after announcing it was unable to collect money due to it for completed work. Confort is one of the largest Romanian construction companies, with turnover of around €124m last year.
After opening insolvency proceedings, Expert SPRL from Arad was appointed as the temporary the judiciary administrator, according to the court in Timis.
In the last year, a number of other companies operating in the construction sector have fallen into insolvency, among them Concefa Sibiu, ICIM Arad and Proges.
