The Hungarian parliament has accepted a bill which prohibits gambling outside of official casinos. The new legislation would outlaw both electronic casinos and amusement arcades. The bill was accepted by 238 votes, was refused by one and 8 politicians abstained. Several trade unions are protesting against the decision, saying the bill is unconstitutional and claiming that insufficient time was provided for counter-arguments to be raised. Several petitions have been sent to the president, asking him to inspect the legality of the bill.
