The Iasi-Ungheni pipeline, that will link the the natural gasworks of Romania and the Republic of Moldova will cost roughly RON 87.7m (€19.2m). The pipeline will have an annual throughput of 1.5 bn cubic meters, or approximately 15 percent of Romania’s annual production of natural gas, informs the news agency Mediafax.
Construction work is expected to last 17 months and the value of the investment will be updated in relation to how the prices evolve, a draft government decision shows.
The Iasi-Ungheni pipeline will have a length of 43.2 kilometers, of which 32.8 kilometers on Romania’s territory. Romania, whose gas industry is dominated by Romgaz Medias and the Austrian-based OMV Petrom, will invest approximately €12m in this project.
