Skanska will appeal against the result of a tender for the reconstruction of a 21 km long railway connecting Pilsen to Rokycany. Metrostav won the tender with a bid of CZK 3.97bn, however, Skanska claims its bid was the cheapest and is determined to address the Antimonopoly Office (Úřad pro ochranu hospodářské soutěže). However, significant delays in the process could derail financing that’s on tap from the European Union, which would cover 85 percent of the total costs. In order to be able to use the EU money, the work has to be completed by 2015.
