Josef Goschy, owner of the largest hotel chain in Romania, has been trying unsuccessfully for years to sell 10 of the 25 properties he owns in Romania. Since his company, Unita Turism, hasn’t had any luck from investors on the regional market, Goschy is starting a promotional campaign in China, Russia and various Arab countries to try and offload the hotels, according to the news server Wall Street.
On sale are the Amfiteatru, Belvedere and Panoramic hotels in Neptun-Olimp; the Fantanele complex which costs €6.5m and the Faget complex at €5.2m, both in Cluj; the resort complex Onyx-Safir in Cap Aurora (€5.2m); the Transilvania hotel in Alba Iulia (€3m) and the Central hotel in Suceava (€3m).
Goschy plans to invest the money from the hotel sales into upgrades on the others, according to the Wall Street report. His company portfolio includes 3,500 hotel rooms and 7,000 restaurant seats.
