The German discount chain Lidl Romania opened a new unit in the city of Miercurea Ciuc in eastern Romania this week.
The company has 144 store on the local market and plans to open an additional 56 before the end of the year. Lidl entered the Romanian market by acquiring the Plus Discount chain in 2010.
Lidl is part of the German group Lidl & Schwarz, which includes Kaufland network.
