The Freudenberg Group is reportedly preparing to open a new factory in Nyíregyháza, a city in northeast Hungary. However, the company has yet to make an official announcement on the matter. The new factory in Nyíregyháza would allegedly provide components for various automotive companies in the CEE region. It would manufacture textiles for the automotive industry, mainly for the new Mercedes plant in Kecskemét and the Audi in Győr. Freudenberg started as a German family business, but it currently employs more than 37,000 people in 58 countries, with several production facilities within Hungary.
