Flextronics International Ltd announced it will lay off 600 employees at its Zalaegerszeg factory in western Hungary. Rita Kercsmár, the company’s branding director confirmed the news, but would not comment on the number of employees impacted by the decision. The Singapore-based company operates factories in Hungary. Flextronics already laid off 1,000 of its Hungarian employees last December. It is still considered one of the region’s largest employers with a 5,000-strong workforce. That figure is down from 9,000 in 2010.
