Bucharest’s apartment price slump continues in August

The average prices of older apartments in the capital dropped by 3.5 percent in August compared to July, except for four-room apartments, which are 6 percent more expensive, according to AnunturiParticulari.ro.

The average price of a studio apartment in the capital was over €35,100 in August, 2 percent less than in July. Two-room apartments also suffered a drop in prices. Such an apartment now costs €55,000, 3.5 percent less than in July. That’s a drop of 7 percent compared to August 2011.

At the end of August, the average price of three-room apartments is a little over €75,200, which represents a drop of less than 1 percent compared to July.

Four-room apartments have also felt the squeeze, since last August, sinking from €106,600 to €97,560, but are more expensive than in July by about €6,000.
