Expansion at Haribo factory

27 August 2012

Haribo Hungaria has received HUF 800m in state support, resources it will be using to double the size of its 5,000 sqm plant in Nemesvámos. The confectioner is also planning to hire more employees, though no firm commitments in terms of numbers have been released. The Hungarian Haribo plant started operations with 48 workers in 2002, producing 1,500 tons of gummi bears and other candies. Production levels were increased to 10,000 tons by 2006. Haribo sells 30% of its products within the Hungarian market, but its exports have been increasing regularly. The current investment is planned for completion in the first half of 2013.
