Hotel revenues looking up in Hungary

24 August 2012

According to the Hungarian office of Colliers International, hotels have registered a 4% increase in the number of foreign guests in the first half of 2012, compared to 2011, and a 6% increase in guest nights country-wide. The number of guest-nights in Budapest, on the other hand, increased by 8%. Three and five-star hotels saw their visitor numbers stay essentially the same, while four-star figures improved by 15%, though the agency suggests this is in part due to new ones opening for business. Total gross revenues increased by 7%, a number that could be helped by the weakened exchange rate.
