HN: Dream contract brought police to CzechInvest

13 August 2012

Hospodarske noviny reports that last week’s raid by anti-corruption police was part of an investigation into a contract for the maintenance of a real estate database. The newspaper claims to have documents that suggest that three of the four companies that took part in a tender for the job were essentially there to make it look like a standard competition. In reality, the winning company offered terms that would have made it a “dream contract” for the company. Not only would there be only two days in the year on which the contract could be revoked, but the company would enjoy a nine-month severance period.
