Romania’s industrial turnover advanced 3.1 percent in the first half of 2012, compared with the same period in 2011.
The National Statistics Institute (INS) reports that large industrial groups saw increased turnover in virtually all sectors: durables were up 13.6 percent; consumer goods rose 5.5 percent; intermediary goods (3.1 percent); energy (1.5 percent), while capital goods rose 0.6 percent.
In June 2012, compared with the previous month, industrial turnover was down 3.4 percent, as a result of a 4 percent drop in the processing industry. On the other hand, the mining industry’s turnover jumped 12.2 percent.
