In the first half of 2012, the oil and gas producer company OMV Petrom produced a net profit of RON 2.02bn (€461.7m), up by 16 percent compared to the same period last year, while its sales grew 19 percent to RON 12.2 bn (€2.78bn). The figures were released in a financial report that Petrom filed to the Bucharest Stock Exchange. Its second quarter sales grew 17 percent to RON 6.197 bn (€1.4 bn).
In first half of last year Petrom registered a net profit of RON 1.744 bn, including a net profit of RON 903m in Q2.
At the end of June, Petrom Group had 22,105 employees, down by 7 percent (or 1,588 persons) from the same period last year. The number of employees dropped slightly in Q2, from 22,366 at the end of March.
