TVN group in the red for Q2

9 August 2012

The revenues and a profits of the Polish television grou TVN fell in the second quarter of the year, which been said to be resulting from the advertising market forecast cut. The group’s revenues reached PLN 541.8m in the second quarter of the year, reflecting an 8 percent drop compared with the same period in 2012, while operating profits fell by as much as 27.8 percent, coming in at PLN 125.6m in the second quarter of the year. The group saw a unit loss of PLN 230.6m, from PLN 67.9 in profits it generated last year. The weak results are a reflection of the weak state of the television advertising market, that ended the second quarter worse than expected. The company said this was in part the result of higher prices associated with Euro 2012.
