Prague has unveiled plans to create a swimming pool on the Vltava river on an artificial floating island. The island is part of a project by a young architect’s studio, which designed the round island which is 50m in diameter, with a 25m swimming pool. The facility would use filtered water from Vltava. The architects – Ondřej Lipenský, Michal Volf and Andrea Kubná were inspired by river pools in Berlin, Budapest, Paris, New York and Vienna, writes the daily Právo. The cost of the floating island is estimated at CZK 30m (€1.193m) and the architects believe the investment could make a return within ten years.
