The Polish economy could slide into recession in the near-term, according to analysts from BNP Paribas, with the industry sector seen as the primary drag on GDP. According to the bank’s latest survey, a downturn in the manufacturing industry, as well as in building, the service sector and agriculture, could topple Poland’s economy into the red in the next few months.
BNP Paribas predicts a slight jump of 0.3 percent of Poland’s GPD over the second quarter of the year, adding that the growth remains positive, though “it is close to zero.” They also predict the Polish central bank to cut interest rates this year.
