Rompetrol to invest $27.5m in drilling in Focsani

The oil and gas company Rompetrol Group will start the first geological exploratory drilling to be undertaken in the Focsani perimeter. The Kaz 1 bore is located in the northwest of the perimeter, near the village Fitionesti (Vrancea County) and will have a projected depth of approximately 4,200 meters.

The total investment in this project will exceed $10m this year and $17.5m in 2013, said Zhan Tussupbekov, CEO of Rompetrol Group. Currently Rompetrol has five concessions for geological exploration in Romania under concession – in Satu Mare, Zegujani, Greşu, Nereju and Focşani.
