Mandate and Immunity Committee of the Czech Parliament has recommended that the lower house strips the coalition MP and former defense minister Vlasta Parkanová of immunity. She is suspected of abuse of public office and breach of trust in connection with a CZK 3.5bn purchase of military planes CASA during her term, according to the news by Český rozhlas. The charge is that Parkanová failed to commission an expert assessment on four CASA military transport planes, causing the state CZK 658m in damages. The MPs will vote on immunity later today, opening way to prosecution.
