One of the major global brands, AIG is about to make a return, say representatives of the insurance group. AIG abandoned its name after the company was bailed out in 2008, assuming the name Chartis. “The company expects to return to its old brand this fall,” says Agnieszka Żołędziowska, the general director of Chartis Polska. The move shows the company believes its worst period has passed. The Polish branch of the insurer was said to benefit the most from the change, as the AIG brand enjoys stronger recognition than its replacement Chartis Polska. “The brand’s position (in Poland) is strong, comparable to the major non-life insurers”, claims Agnieszka Żołędziowska.
