Romania ranked first in the European Union for rising construction output in April 2012. Compared to March 2012, the sector undertook 11.5 percent more work. That’s far better than the European Union average, which was a 6.6 percent decrease (2.7 percent in the Eurozone), according to data presented by European Office for Statistics (Eurostat).
According to the report, the largest increases were registered in Romania (11.5 percent), France (2.3 percent) and Poland (1.9 percent) while most significant decline were registered in the UK (minus 18, 1 percent), Slovenia (minus 9.3 percent), Portugal (minus 6.7 percent) and Germany (minus 6 percent).
