Romania’s tallest building nearly ready

3 July 2012

The tallest building in Romania has been completed and now stands at 137 meters, with 37 floors, writes Capital.ro. Workers still need to put up the glass panels on the highest floors, but it now seems clear that the best view of Bucharest will be handed over to Raiffeisen in November.

Located near subway station Aurel Vlaicu, Floreasca City was developed by Raiffeisen Evolution on the four-hectare plot of land of a former factory. The Austrian developer paid around €50m for the plot of land and design.

Sky Tower was made of 50,000 cubic meters of concrete, 8,300 tons of steel and 17,250 sqm of facade. It also has five underground floors going 60 meters deep. Each of the underground floors has 5,393 sqm with 500 parking places.
