The Czech government approved a plan to continue improving anti-flood protection measures for another 15 years. Since the disastrous floods of 1997, CZK 20bn has been invested into the country’s anti-flood system. By the end of next year the sum should reach CZK 25bn, but work on the anti-flood protection system should continue in two phases until 2027. The Agriculture Ministry will provide CZK 1.7bn annually to the campaign, with additional subsidies to be drawn from EU funds through the State Environment Fund.
