Senate Speaker Vasile Blaga was elected president of the Democrat Liberal Party with 1,197 votes in favor and 28 against. Cezar Preda, Cristian Preda, Mihai Stanisoara and Dorin Florea were elected first vice presidents, while Gheorghe Flutur was elected secretary general, with 1,053 votes in favor and 22 against.
Blaga thanked PDL colleagues for their confidence.
The candidates vying for the four first vice president posts were Mihai Stanisoara, Cezar Preda, Dorin Florea, Cristian Preda, Teodor Baconschi and Theodor Paleologu.
Cezar Preda obtained the highest number of votes, 926, followed by Florea- 881, Cristian Preda – 872 and Stanisoara – 751. Baconschi got 382 votes and Paleologu – 364.
