KGHM’s top job taken

28 June 2012

The top job at Poland’s copper giant KGHM was filled this week, after months of agonizing over the selection by the company’s Supervisory Board. The contest ended up coming full circle, as the state decided to re-elect Herbert Wirth who’s held the position for years now. It’s a good decision,” says Michał Marczak from DI BRE Bank, “He established the best board KGHM’s had so far.” The list of names considered for the job was a real who’s who of the Polish financial market, having included Jacek Levernes, the youngest vice-president at HP Europe. “I’m pleased with the choice,” said Aleksandra Magaszewska, chairwoman of KGHM’s supervisory board.
