The asking price for apartments in the largest six Romanian cities dropped by up to 4.5 percent in the first half of the year 2012. The drop was more pronounced in the new real estate segment – up to 6.7 percent.
The biggest drop in the average prices, of up to 4.5 percent, was reported in the city of Ploiesti, while Timisoara apartments had the smallest price drop – 0.5 percent.
The steepest drop in prices in new flats (6.7 percent) occurred in Cluj, according to imobiliare.ro. In Bucharest, the average price for new apartments in June was fell to €1,295 per sqm, 6 percent lower than in December and 8 percent lower than in June last year.
