A new HUF 6 bn investment by the Hungarian subsidiary of logistics company Kühne+Nagel was opened in Kecskemét. The construction of a 10,000 sqm logistics base took five months, and the facility will be used primarily to provide components to the Mercedes-Benz factory in Kecskemét. The company will handle inbound services along with operational and supplier activities. The logistics provider already employs 175 who work in the Mercedes factory, but they plan to provide 100 more workplaces with the help of the new logistics base. Gábor Zombor, mayor of Kecskemét said at the warehouse’s opening that due to the city’s good accessibility, Kecskemét can become a logistics hub for Hungary’s and the rest of Central Europe.
