18 June 2012

ISD Dunaferr Zrt, one of Hungary’s largest pig iron and LD steel producers has invested HUF 10 bn in order to increase its production plant’s output and to increase productivity. The modernization of the plant began in 2005, but was put on hold during the crisis. CEO Evgeny Tankhilevich said the company’s aim is to increase production productivity by 35-40%, and that the current work is just the first step in a range of innovations that will cost €10m. This most recent development however was made without any government aid, as the equipment was provided by the Italian-based Danieli Centro Combustion.
