Production of a national health card will begin in August 2012 and will cost €2, according to representatives of the National Health Insurance (CNAS).
Health Minister Vasile Cepoi, said that the card will be required, together with electronic prescriptions, which are part of “electronic file” of the patient. The card will indicate if the person has health insurance or not, any current diagnoses, the blood type and any known allergies to specific drugs.
One million will be produced monthly.
