Henk Paardekooper, CEO of RBS Romania, said that the bank plans to sell its retail division and focus more on corporate business. He said that the retail sector was hit hard by the financial crisis.
The bank has been on sale for about three years, but has yet to find an agreement with any of the potential buyers. Last year, Hungarian OTP Bank group wanted to buy RBS Romania, but gave because the two sides could not agree on price.
Royal Bank of Scotland Group (RBS) has been active in Romania since 2007.
