The Prague Ruzyně international airport will be re-named as Václav Havel Airport Prague as of October 5, the date of birth of the late Czech President. Heated debates over which Prague landmarks should bear Havel’s name preceded the decision, which was suggested by a local film director and was supported by Havel’s surviving wife Dagmar Havlová, Czech transport minister Pavel Dobeš and the Prague airport management. The change will cost the operator approximately CZK 4m.
