Constanta Mayor Radu Mazare has opened inaugurated the Mamaia foot bridge. The footbridge is 4 meters high and placed directly onto the Black Sea, starting off the beach near Victoria Hotel and spanning 420 meters. The investment value is about RON 5m, RON 4m of which comes from the Tourism Ministry and RON 580,000 from the Mayor’s Office.
Mayor Mazare says he intends to finalize two similar projects in Mamaia and added that such leisure constructions should be made throughout the seaside area. One will involve opening Siutghiol Lake up to the sea in order to enable boat rides to be offered. Another calls for the creation of four small islands at sea near Mamaia, a district of Constanta. These will be completed with with EU funds, without money from the national budget.
