Warehouse market grows in Poland over Q1

4 June 2012

Take-up on the Polish warehouse market could surpasse 1m sqm this year, as the market is still insatiable, according to CBRE, following a two-year stagnation. The demand is being fueled mostly by developing online businesses, with US and British-based companies being now in lead on the Polish market.

“The total demand for the warehouse space reached nearly 500,000 sqm in the first quarter of 2012”, says Joanna Mroczek ,of CBRE’s Research and Analysis department. “If the trend continues, Poland could reach 1.5m take-up this year”, she adds. There was 215,000 sqm of storage space delivered in the first quarter of 2012. That’s already 60 percent of the figure recorded in 2011.
