Building permits for residential buildings fall 5.5% in Romania

The number of construction permits for residential buildings in the first four months fell by 5.5 percent compared to last year to 9,958, according to recent figures from the National Institute of Statistics (INS).

Significant decreases were recorded in the North-Eastern region (-282 permits), North-West (-205 permits) and Bucharest-Ilfov (-65 permits). A slight increase has been noted western region (+68 permits). In South-West Region Oltenia, the number of building permits issued for residential use remained the same, it said in an INS statement.
