Romania’s Ministry of Transport says it will make RON 98m in payments for work Bechtel did end on a section of road in Bihor Country, between Bors and Suplacu de Barcau. Work on this section began eight years ago, but Bechtel has yet to finish the 64 kilometers stretch.
The American contractor had been demanding payments of RON 240 m, but it’s now reported to be willing to accept just RON 98m. Last year, Bechtel promised the road would open in November 2012, but final delivery is now scheduled for the end of August 2013.
