Minister’s signature allegedly forged

15 May 2012

Signatures similar to that of Tamas Fellegi’s, ex-Minister of National Development, currently a Minister without portfolio, have been found to have been falsified, with Fellegi claiming they are not his. The signatures were suspicious in part because they were written with a black pen, though Fellegi says he uses only blue ones. In addition, on the days the documents were supposed to have been signed, Fellegi was abroad. The documents were about CO2 quota allocations for a German ceramic tile producer. The company denies any knowledge of the forgery, but claims to be willing to to participate in an investigation underway by the Hungarian National Bureau of Investigation.
