Natural gas prices will be liberalized between 2013-2018, according to Economic Minister Daniel Chitoiu, after receiving the opinion of a specialized committees of the Senate and Chamber of Deputies. The International Monetary Fund (IMF) and the European Commission
demanded Romania abandon reulated electricity and gas prices.
The prices paid by families are regulated by the National Energy Regulatory in order to protect the poor from hardship.
